There’s a funny throwaway gag on The Simpsons in which a theater marquee is emblazoned with the words “MOVIE WITH AIR CONDITIONING.” Armored is the prototypical movie with air conditioning, a 90-minute slot-filler so simple, generic, and blandly proficient that the reels might as well come delivered in a brown paper sack. There’s nothing wrong with a tight little genre film that efficiently delivers the goods; in fact, Nimród Antal’s last effort, the underrated motel-hell thriller Vacancy, did exactly that, exploiting a single location to maximum effect.Armored also takes place largely in one place—an abandoned warehouse where duplicitous guards for an armored-truck company hole up after a botched heist—but it lacks that extra layer or two to make it interesting. The script and direction is all bones, no flesh.
Leading a cast flush with squandered character actors, Columbus Short stars as the new guy at an armored-truck company, trying to scrape together enough money to keep his home and retain guardianship over his troubled younger brother. His situation is just desperate enough for his veteran co-workers—Matt Dillon, Laurence Fishburne, Jean Reno, Skeet Ulrich, and Amaury Nolasco—to rope him into a robbery scheme involving two trucks containing $42 million. When the plan goes kaflooey and things get violent, Short locks himself inside one of the trucks and tries to get help for himself and wounded cop Milo Ventimiglia, who affirms his reputation as the second most boring hero on Heroes.
For nearly half of Armored, Short is inside the truck while the others try to break into it by hammering out the hinges with a large hunk of steel. (Pity the poor men who have to hold the thin metal spike to poke the hinge out, who get their fingers crushed more than once.) This abandons Fishburne—an actor of considerably higher caliber than this role requires—to spend the majority of his screen time thrusting his arms downward and grunting, albeit with the subtle variation of snowflakes. It’s a film without twists, where everything is what it seems, and when the mess has been resolved, it’s even at a loss for a proper denouement. Armored just ends—and with it, so does the access to plush chairs and free air conditioning.
The Twilight Saga: New Moon is a 2009 American romantic fantasy film based on Stephenie Meyer's 2006 novel New Moon. It is the second film in The Twilight Saga film series and is the sequel to 2008's Twilight, which is also based on Meyer's previous novel. Summit Entertainmentgreenlit the sequel in late November 2008, following the early success of Twilight.[3] Directed byChris Weitz, the film stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner,[4] reprising their roles as Bella Swan, Edward Cullen, and Jacob Black, respectively.
Melissa Rosenberg, who handed in a draft of the film script during the opening weekend ofTwilight, returned as screenwriter for The Twilight Saga: New Moon.[5] Filming began in Vancouverin late March 2009,[6][7][8] and in Montepulciano, Italy in late May 2009.[9][10]
The Twilight Saga: New Moon was released on November 20, 2009 in most countries, and set domestic box office records as the biggest midnight screening with $26.3 million. This led to the biggest single day domestic gross with $72.7 million. The film also opened with the third biggest domestic opening weekend ($142,839,137).[11] The film was voted as the "Favorite Movie of 2009" on Moviefone[12] and was well received by fans,[13] but critical reception was less favorable.[14][15]
ulha Mil Gaya (Hindi: दुल्हा मिल गया, Urdu: دولھا مل گیا , English: Found A Groom) is a 2010Bollywood film directed by Mudassar Aziz starring Sushmita Sen and Fardeen Khan released on January 8, 2010. Shahrukh Khan made a 60-min guest appearance.[1]
Sherlock Holmes is a fictional character of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries who first appeared in publication in 1887. He is the creation of Scottish author and physician Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. A brilliant London-based "consulting detective", Holmes is famous for his intellectual prowess and is renowned for his skillful use of astute observation, deductive reasoning and forensicskills to solve difficult cases.
Conan Doyle wrote four novels and fifty-six short stories that feature Holmes. The first story, A Study in Scarlet, appeared in Beeton's Christmas Annual in 1887 and the second, The Sign of the Four, in Lippincott's Monthly Magazine in 1890. The character grew tremendously in popularity with the beginning of the first series of short stories in The Strand Magazine in 1891; further series of short stories and two serialised novels appeared until 1927. The stories cover a period from around 1875 up to 1904, with a final case in 1914.
All but four stories are narrated by Holmes' friend and biographer, Dr. John H. Watson; two are narrated by Holmes himself, and two others are written in the third person. In two stories ("The Musgrave Ritual" and "The Adventure of the Gloria Scott") Holmes tells Watson the main story from his memories, whereas Watson becomes the narrator of the frame story.
Conan Doyle said that the character of Holmes was inspired by Dr. Joseph Bell, for whom Doyle had worked as a clerk at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. Like Holmes, Bell was noted for drawing large conclusions from the smallest observations.[1]
'Bolo Raam' delves into the silence of truth
Murder mysteries have almost become dormant in Bollywood but attempting the same is debutant director Rakesh Chaturvedi with 'Bolo Raam', releasing on New Year's Eve.
Produced by Goldy Bhutani of Shree Keshav Films, 'Bolo Raam' features stalwarts like Naseeruddin Shah and Om Puri who are coming together after 'Maharathi'.
Chaturvedi has himself scripted the film, which is the launch vehicle of actor Rishi Bhutani.
Padmini Kolhapure makes a comeback on big screen with the movie after her long sabbatical. The thriller also stars Rajpal Yadav and Govind Namdeo in pivotal roles.
"The movie is looking good and one can't tell that it has been made by a first time director. Rishi is a full package with a good body, acting and talent," Om Puri has been quoted as saying.
The story revolves around a boy named Raam who is charged with the murder of his mother, Archana. Raam falls into a state of shock and brief psychotic disorder after his mother's death and becomes silent. He refuses to talk or react.
The story unfolds as the investigating officer, Indrajeet Singh Rathi, much to his frustration is puzzled and unable to make Raam speak. He then consults a psychiatrist called Negi to find out the cause of Raam's state of mind and the reason for his silence.
The movie progresses as he interrogates various people to dig out information about Raam. Every possible motive that Raam might have for murdering his mother is explored.
It has been reported that Naseer did the movie free of cost because he thought it would be an injustice to the script and the role if any commercial angle was introduced.

With his love for Titanic fully explored, Aliens having petty spats with Predators and his beloved Terminator now governing Cali what was Cameron to do? That’s when you take four years off, pour a big bowl of Frosted Flakes and watch a bunch of cartoons in your underwear for inspiration.
The story centers on a mining company that has set base on the planet Pandora; home to a cat like race of humanoids called the Na’vi. The good natured scientists put their consciousness into genetically engineered Na’vi bodies (Avatars) to peacefully learn about the creatures. The marines use mech suits to blow them away.
Audiences were wowed when they saw the space military machinery. For many it felt like a throwback to the space age machinery we all loved in ‘Aliens’. The Na’vi, on the other hand, were just a little… cartoony.
Some people have taken the Avatar animation rip-off allegations very seriously. Heated discussions continue in forums where fans insist that Avatar stole its plot from this year’s ‘The Battle for Terra’ (or ‘Terra’ as it was originally titled). Avatar was even threatened with a lawsuit form the makers of ‘Delgo’, the animated film that now holds the honor of having the worst opening for a film released in over 2000 theatres.
Now, does the Spill crew think James Cameron would stoop so low as to steal the ideas from lesser known animated films, only to re-package them in shiny new CG technology and make a billion more dollars? Not really. But it does amuse us to think about some of the other cartoons and movies that may have served as his muse.
AVA! AVA!! AVATAR!!! HOOOOOOOO
